A few km from Ipoh in the state of Perak in Malaysia you can visit the amazing abandoned tin-mining village of Papan where you can see wonderful heritage architecture. Most of the buildings (houses and shops) are abandoned and have been taken over by trees, bushes and plants but there are still some houses which are occupied and there are a couple of coffee shops in operation in the small town.
